Breaking Benjamin's music has a lot of the qualities that I like in a story. It's hard-edged yet melodic, simultaneously aggressive and ethereal. Notably, the videos for the band's two most popular singles follow the narrative pattern of horror: There's something terribly amiss, but we don't realize exactly what's going on until the closing moments. "The Diary Of Jane" is a classic ghost story, while "So Cold" is eerily reminiscent of "Singing My Sister Down" from Margo Lanagan's Black Juice.
Watch the videos for both songs below.
