Six Birds: The Stories

Spring is in full swell, pushing its way out of winter's slumber, quilting the earth in green and scoring the sky with birdsong. But not all of morning's minions are full of the deep down freshness of things. Come, let us tell you a story ...

Thanks for participating! Your story was great, and it's always fun to read what people come up with.

I liked the wide variety of stories you got with this prompt. Thanks!

We're glad you contributed, Aidan! I always enjoy seeing how many types of narratives people come up with from the same starting point.

I am late to the party, and I apologize! But I finally typed up my story and put it online. Thanks for the cool prompt, guys! Now I can read everyone else's stories.

Latecomers are welcome, Scott! You're all linked up, and your story was certainly worth the wait.

I dropped by to read the stories after perusing Scott's entry. Interesting stuff here.

Glad you enjoyed it, Eric! These storytelling sessions are always a lot of fun for me. I really enjoy all the different sorts of stories.

All of these were great fun to read, and it's fascinating to see where we all went with the simple idea of six birds. I had forgotten that there was a limit of 1,000 words, so I have failed by coming in at over 1,600. I'm wordy, you know. Ask anyone.

No worries, Scott. The eldritch and squamous beasties that enforce word limits generally require a sacrifice when the boundary is broached, but they liked your entry. I'll just throw them a tourist if they hungry.

It is fun to see multiple takes on the same prompt. Reminds me of "Parallel Lines," a bit.

Oh, and Loren: your request came through without any need for haXXoring. I spent an hour last night doing this.

Darn, that looks like a great series of films. I'm going to have to save it for future watching.

Ooh, you added audio to "All At Once"! No waiting for this one; I'm listening now.
