Much to my stunned surprise, "Lammergeier" somehow snagged an honorable mention in The Clarity of Night's "Silhouette" Writing Contest. I am, er, honored at the honor! (And glad the short short didn't cause any friends or family to make a phone call to the nice people with the padded rooms.) Thanks to Jason Evans of The Clarity of Night for hosting the contest and to all of you who commented. I truly appreciate it.

you did a commendable job and I'm not shocked at all by Mr. Evans's commendation.
Oh, come off it, guys. Didn't our compliment contract expire last week?
No, seriously, thanks for the congrats. I appreciate it.
I totes voted for you, but apparently the Reader's Choice didn't quite make it...
You, sir, are quite kind. Thank you muchly.
Very nice, Loren. Not an easy thing to do with so many entries.
Thanks, Patti! I wrote it right after my Dad died and didn't think it would go anywhere. It really was quite a surprise.
