In the entertainment world, religious orthodoxy can’t get no respect. Often holy men and their adherents are portrayed as hucksters, hypocrites or intolerant oppressors. More gracious efforts typically serve up squishy humanism or treacly nonsense. That’s why it’s refreshing to see this clip from ER, wherein a dying man dismantles the empty advice from a liberal chaplain.

Yes. It was one of my Dad's favorite movies.
It always comes to mind as a beautiful picture of how God uses flawed humanity for His purposes, and I think it's one of the more well-done "secular" looks at true faith...and what's not to love about Robert Duvall?
